The piece represents a couple of young children playing football, struggling to kick the ball and to shoot maybe for goal. They are full dressed in the sports kit and football boots, but their colours, one in whites and the other in reds and blues, do not represent any particular team. The composition is dynamic, full of movement, with the ball at the point of the shoe, almost on the air. The vigor of the kick is felt throughout the scene, on the flowing hair, strained faces and floating arms. The pentagon parts of the football are engraved and hand painted on the porcelain.
