A Bloody Bull Run

The sixth running of the bulls of this year’s Sanfermin fiestas, with bulls from the Jandilla breed, was hair-raising and highly dangerous and it ended up with eight runners receiving a goring and ten runners also requiring medical treatment in the different Pamplona hospital centers. Santo Domingo, The City Hall square and the entrance leading to the bullring were the three stretches of the course which proved to be the most dangerous places and where most of the gorings took place. Two runners had to be operated on in the infirmary in the Bull-ring.

Los Hospital de Navarra Emergency Service and that of the Hospital Virgen del Camino treated a total of 16 runners this morning July 12th, six of these for gorings received in the sixth Sanfermin running of the bulls. Two other runners were given immediate medical assistance in the infirmary inside the Bull-ring for gorings received in this morning's run and both will be admitted shortly to the Hospital Virgen del Camino. This means that a total of 18 runners require hospital treatment after today's running of the bulls.
